Mumbai's EV Infrastructure Story — Told Here First.

EV charging infrastructure makes your sustainability commitment visible, measurable, and real.

    Who this is for

You work in the administration, facilities, or sustainability team at a college, university, professional institute, or school in Mumbai or the MMR. Your institution has sustainability commitments — to NAAC accreditation criteria, GRIHA or LEED building ratings, or simply to the values you communicate to students and faculty. EV charging is the most visible, most used, and most talked-about sustainability feature you can install on campus.

    How it works

    01

    Campus Assessment

Weej Wala’s team walks your campus, assesses your parking areas and electrical infrastructure, and proposes a charger configuration that serves students, faculty, staff, and visitors appropriately.

    02

    Administration Consultation and Onboarding

We work with your facilities or sustainability team to document the installation plan, address any administration or compliance questions, and prepare onboarding materials for campus users.

    03

    Installation and Launch

Chargers are installed, commissioned on IONAGE Nexus, and listed on the IONAGE App. We recommend a campus launch communication campaign to maximise early adoption.

    04

    Data, Reporting, and Expansion

IONAGE Nexus provides energy and session data for sustainability reporting and research use. As EV adoption grows, additional chargers are added to the existing infrastructure backbone.

    The opportunity

NAAC’s assessment criteria increasingly value tangible evidence of institutional sustainability practices. [verify before publishing] GRIHA and LEED green building ratings include provisions for EV charging infrastructure in campus and building design. Installing a Weej Wala station is not just an infrastructure decision — it is a credential, a marketing point, and a daily reminder to every person on campus.

Mumbai’s campuses are already seeing student and faculty EV adoption accelerate. Two-wheelers in particular are transitioning rapidly — and most campuses have the electrical infrastructure to support AC charging at existing parking areas with minimal modification. Chargeway AC 7.4 kW to 11 kW chargers are ideal for campus parking. For visitor parking and event use, a Chargeway DC 30 kW charger provides fast top-up capability.

Beyond the accreditation angle, campus EV charging opens a genuine research collaboration opportunity — data on energy consumption, peak demand, usage patterns, and CO₂ avoided can support student research projects and faculty publications in the energy and sustainability space.

    Frequently asked questions

    Common Questions

Yes. IONAGE Nexus provides session-level data including energy delivered and CO₂ avoided per session, exportable as a monthly report. This data is directly applicable to NAAC sustainability criteria, GRIHA/LEED green building documentation, and institutional CSR reporting.

Access configuration is flexible. You can limit access to registered campus users via RFID or app authentication, or enable open access for visitors. Many campuses operate a hybrid model.

Charger installation is minimally disruptive. A wall-mounted or post-mounted AC charger requires a cable run from the nearest electrical panel and basic civil works. Our assessment team will plan the installation to minimise disruption to normal campus operations.

Yes. Anonymised session and energy data from your campus station(s) can be made available for academic research under a data sharing arrangement with Weej Wala and IONAGE.
